Dmitri Gradilenko believes that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vladimir-Gabulov-c36341 have failed to rediscover their old form
Former Torpedo Moscow player, Dmitri Gradilenko, has lamented certain transfers that the Russian outfits made during the January transfer window.
Gradilenko has insisted that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrei-Arshavin-c5771, Diniyar Bilyaletdinov and Roman Pavlyuchenko have taken a step back in their respective careers by returning to the Russian Premier League from England.
Arshavin returned to Zenit St. Petersburg, Bilyaletdinov joined Spartak Moscow from Everton while Pavlyuchenko signed a long term deal at Lokomotiv Moscow from Tottenham Hotspur.
Arshavin, who holds the record for scoring most goals in a season, has returned to Petrovsky stadium after becoming tired of his bench role under Arsene Wenger.
The prolific midfielder had failed to get more first team action despite a host of shocking departures from Emirates stadium, last year. Cesc Fabregas and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360 were amongst the noticeable departures.
Bilyaletdinov has decided to change his club after he failed to impress David Moyes. The arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darron-Gibson-c10368 from Manchester United further hastened his departure. The 27-year-old Russian midfielder had failed to win a place
in the starting-eleven as Moyes preferred to start with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Rodwell-c17462.
Pavlyuchenko, on the other hand, had same motives behind making an emotional return to Moscow. The former Rotor Volgograd player had to leave the White Hart Lane after the arrivals of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Louis-Saha-c22459 from Manchester
City and Everton respectively.
And it seems like Pavlyuchenko will take time to adjust to life in Russia, as the Russian Cup winner has scored just two goals from nine appearances.
“I don’t think Arshavin’s return did Zenit a favour. I am disappointed with his performance.”
“And of course, I am disappointed with Bilyaletdinov and Pavlyuchenko’s performances. Reasons for this may be different. We all have high expectations from these players but they have not done extra ordinary in the championship.”
The Soviet Top League winner was quoted as saying.
Commenting on Vladimir Gabulov, Gradilenko has conceded that Gabulov should not have joined Anzhi Makhachkala after leaving Dynamo Moscow.
