i went to the doctors yesterday and realized......i was 100.1 pounds!!! that was so dissapointing because ive never weighed that much in my life. im 14 and a very competitive figure skater so i want to shed the excess weight gradually so i can still keep my jumps. at least 10 pounds over the next idk....2 months or so.

im already very active. i skate for about 3 hours every day and then ride a stationary bike, run, stretch, and other forms of off-ice training.

and im not trying to be anorexic or bulimic. i wouldnt be able to skate if i did.

  1. Ok. 100 pounds is not alot for a 14 year old. and just because someone wieghs alot doesnt mean the weight comes from fat. its could mean the wieght comes from MUSCLE. so dont worrie about how much you weigh, just make sure you FEEL good and healthy.

  2. well you sound like a very healthy girl. because of all the sports you do, you probably have a lot of muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat.

Also, at your age you probably are growing and developing a lot. EVERYBODY gains weight at your age. You can't be a twiggy, flat 80 pound 11-year old forever.

I would not worry about losing weight. Are you unhappy with the way you look or just the number on the scale? If your body is in good shape (which I bet it is with all that activity) put that doctor visit behind you. If you are not happy with your body type then i would think about what you are eating. Make small changes like healthier snacks and think if you are really hungry enough to get a snack... or are you just doing it out of habit. Good luck and keep up the good work.

  3. 90 lbs and your 14?!? thats insane! stay 100 lbs

  4. that's healthy for you.  don't worry about it. don't compare yourself with other skaters who may have the slim body and weigh less.  if you eat and exercise sufficiently don't worry.  you're normal.  and figure skaters don't have to weigh less to skate better.  just keep exercising.  :)
