Question:

Graduate accounting certificate...is it worth it?

I have some business background, some accounting, but not very extensive. I have a BA in Business.

Do you think a graduate-level accounting certificate from UCLA would help in getting a good finance or accounting job?

  1. If you want a good accounting job, you need post graduate papers. A University degree will get you nothing more than a bland deskjob, which will keep you on the lower end of middle class. If you want more, a designation or certification is a must.

I got two certifications after my university studies (majored in accounting) and my salary almost doubled right off the bat and I had people calling me offering me jobs. It certainly opens many doors and I would highly recommend getting as much post-grad papers as you can. It's just part of the game.
