so I don't think that I will graduated in faster way...if you're in my position is it good to graduated if you're over 25 years old? or should I get a job instead and leave College for good?

  1. HA!  No, please do *not* quit.  I'm sure you're doing the best you can, and not everyone is meant to graduate as fast as the university and your program will claim you can.  They're not going to care how old you are when you're after that first job -- they just want to know if you know your stuff well enough to be able to help them.  It's not like they print your age or birthdate on the degree!  :)

Are you making at least decent enough progress toward your degree that you think you'll eventually make it through?  If so, then keep pushing on.  If not, then comp sci just may not be quite the right field for you. . . if you transfer, then you're still going to be about the same age as anyone who realized in mid-degree that they didn't like it.  Do you have any classmates who transferred into your department from somewhere else that you can compare ages with?

  2. Hey Bud,

College can be very discouraging at times. I am 26 and despite having a B.S. I just started back up working on another B.S./ M.S. program. I will graduate when I am 31. I think that if you stick in there, you will succeed. The only (with few exceptions) way to get a good job is to stick it out and earn your degree. Most employers are looking for someone with at least a 4 year degree if not a graduate level.

Godd luck, and keep your head held high.

  3. I graduated when I was 35; why quit now?  Do you just want to throw away what you've done?  What's the point of doing THAT?  You won't be any younger, and you will have thrown away all the hard work you did.  Graduate; it shows that you had the determination to stick with something, and didn't give up.

  4. I will be 24 in december and will commence the second year of my degree full time next year. I have been studying part-time externally for the past couple of years and have decided that I need to go to university full time to finish the degree. You  may be older than the other students but you (and I) are both still very young and when you graduate, you will be glad that you stuck to it.

    Good Luck!
