I'm planning my sons graduation and don't really want the same old decorations and food as everyone else. Want something that will set his party apart from the others. Any ideas.

  1. Make it a beach party at home.

  2. Make it all about him. What are his interest and favorite things. Make the theme about his favorit past time or future school.  The more personal you make it for him the more he will enjoy it.  And to be extra different, hold it at night unlike everyone else who has an open house in the middle of the afternoon. That way all his friend could make it.

  3. A Hollywood themed party has endless decorating possibilities. (He's your Star, If he can make it here, he can make it anywhere) also, aGreat way to pay tribute to school events, funny moments, give friend awards for back to the glamorous days of the school year.

  4. summer time - summer therems, hawaiian, beach, poolparty .

  5. have a cool theme, and decorate at that theme. like, what types of things does he like, and whats his fav color.

    hope i helped!!

  6. Check out www.partycity.com or www.partyamerica.com.  If you really want to do it up with big sets or displays, check out www.shindigz.com.  They have lots of cool stuff and great ideas for themes.  How about a cookout/luau theme?  Think tiki lights, grass skirts lining the tables, coolers full of sodas, bottled water, etc.  You could do burgers, hot dogs, chips, cookies, etc.

  7. well... I've always loved the idea of stepping into another world

    How about...

Decorate the place like a galaxy. Like black wall paper with tons of glow in the dark stars. glow in the comets and things like that. Silver streamers that catch the light sparlingly..

That also depends on you son's age. This is just my dream party to step into space...almost like a planetorium

The food could also be set to the theme of a galaxy. Choclate cake with like a special filling like small malted pieces to look like stars. Umm... i know of a chinese food that is called "galaxy noodles" which you can used ink from a squid to darken it and add gold shavings to make it look  star in the galaxy.

But...*** I said before... it depends on the age group....

  8. Well, most graduation parties are decorated with the school's colors, but why not try an entirely different theme?  Perhaps Hawaiian or a Fiesta?  Or, if your son is going off to college, why not tie in his major or a sport he plays?  If he's joining the military, you could have camo. decorations.  Hope it goes well!
