I'm looking for a song for a graduation ceremony - preferrably something Christian contemporary, but it doesn't have to be. It is for a couple of homeschool boys public ceremony, to be held at our church.

    My Wish: by Rascal Flatts

    RASCAL FLATTS LYRICS

    "My Wish"

I hope that the days come easy and the moments pass slow,

And each road leads you where you want to go,

And if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,

I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.

And if one door opens to another door closed,

I hope you keep on walkin' till you find the window,

If it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile,

But more than anything, more than anything,

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,

Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,

You never need to carry more than you can hold,

And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,

I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,

    Yeah, this, is my wish.

I hope you never look back, but ya never forget,

All the ones who love you, in the place you left,

I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,

And you help somebody every chance you get,

Oh, you find God's grace, in every mistake,

And you always give more than you take.

But more than anything, yeah, and more than anything,

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,

Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,

You never need to carry more than you can hold,

And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,

I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,

    Yeah, this, is my wish.

    This is my wish

I hope you know somebody loves you

May all your dreams stay big

  4. It's not Christian but it is the perfect song, I'm not gonna cry by Corey Smith

    Here's the lyrics

    Sunday Shoes, Cap and Gown

    The whole town gathered around

Waited 18 years now its all comin down to this.

I scanned the crowd and it fills my soul

My best friends all here in rows

No turning back, Now its time to walk that line

    This tassel is gonna turn

But when the moment passes by

    Well just walk away

    Then slowly grow apart

But Im not gonna cry, no

Not one sad or happy tear

    Ive waited my whole life

Now Im gonna fly right outta here

Its a bittersweet goodbye, but Im not gonna cry

    Friday night, football games,

    First loves and first heartbreaks,

It didnt matter who won or lost,

    Only how we played,

    Memories as good as gold,

    Tearin' up those mountain roads,

racin' out 53, to old georgetown,

sure we made a little trouble,

    but learned from every mistake,

    so theres no regret,

we've done the best we could

so im not gonna cry, no

not one sad or happy tear

    ive waited my whole life

now im gonna fly right outta here

these have been the best years of my life

    so im not gonna cry

its been a lonely, winding journey

and we've lost a few along the way

still we've hung in there through the tribulations

    now its time to celebrate

    its our graduation day

    so im not gonna cry

not one sad or happy tear

    ive waited my whole life

so im gonna fly right outta here

this has been the best day of my life, so im not gonna cry

its a bittersweet goodbye, im not gonna cry

  5. What do you think about the song, The Rubber Meets The Road, by Steven Curtis Chapman?

It begins by talking about the young boy who sat in the seat and pretended to drive until one "my dad threw me the keys."  It goes on to compare the true Christian walk with the word picture of driving on your own.  The song's message is that once you have learned what you need to know about salvation and living for Jesus, it is time to start living it.

"Its time to put in motion everything you know.  This is where the rubber meets the road!

If you can find the sheet music, this would not only speak to the two boys who are graduating, but to anyone in church that day.

That is my suggestion.  My 15 year old son suggests another song also by Steven Curtis Chapman, Dive.
