Grady Sizemore starts outdoor rehab at Cleveland Indians camp

GoodYear , Arizona, witnessed a thunderous rain storm on Sunday morning causing the Cleveland Indians to alter their schedule for their first, full squad spring training workout. Grady Sizemore used this opportunity to jumpstart his agility training in rehabilitation.
As the rains subsided, the Indians’ player managed to train outside in the club’s player development complex for the first time after his surgery.
Grady kicked off outdoor rehab by sprinting at medium speed for a few minutes, gaining leverage in his agility work routine. The player is on his way back from micro-fracture surgery on his right knee. Manager, Manny Acta, had an opportunity to speak on
the matter and mentioned that Sizemore also did some agility drills for the first time.
The player had an operation conducted on his knee in June of 2010. Sizemore is expected to maintain his workout routine and agility training till the Indians feel confident enough to place him on the first team for the regular season. There isn’t a certain
outlook on his role in the first team on opening day, the understanding is that the player will be given ample time to recover.
"It's hard," Sizemore said during his agility work. "But it's been such a long rehab that I'm not looking to push anything and make it worse. Obviously, the whole thing with the surgery was take it easy and don't push the program. It was going to be a long
recovery."
At the same time, Manager Acta and the rest of the management team is looking to see the star backto his original form again.
"That was something that I was really looking forward to when I took this job," Acta said. "To me, it was a treat - that's all I could think of - being able to see this guy from the dugout for 160 games. I haven't been able to do it. I can't wait to be able
to do it, because all I've seen in the past is either doing it against me in Interleague or those great highlights.”
With opening day just around the corner, Sizemore is looking to make a comeback to the diamond as soon as possible.
