Grady Sizemore to find another team for next season – MLB Update
Cleveland Indians' centre fielder Grady Sizemore, who has recently filed for free agency, is looking for another team in Major League Baseball.
An eight-year Major League veteran and highly talented, Sizemore is no doubt considered a very productive player in the league but with a recent string of injuries made him frustrated as he thought of playing in the Indians for another year.
He could not play in 2012 MLB season due to an injury but overall his stats still makes him a good and dynamic individual.
His career hitting average is consistent at .269 along with 139 home-runs and 458 RBIs and .357 OBP.
"Grady is working his way back, Everyone wants to know how he's doing,” said Joe Urbon, Sizemore's agent.
Urbon added, "I think he just pushed too hard to try and come back last season, He still wants to play."
Later Cleveland Indians' general manager Chris Antonetti said and explained the recent situation, "We're open to bringing him back, but the economic commitment would be far less than what it's been in the past. He's a good defensive player, He made a big impact in the short time he was here.”
Since coming into Major League in 2004, Sizemore has played some of his best seasons. Selected three times in All-Star Game, Sizemore has also won two Gold Glove awards as well.
Meanwhile, speculations are also soaring that Sizemore as a free agent, drawing many leading teams’ attention and in few weeks, his potential future will be decided.
This is also a possibility that Indians might give him another fresh contract. Indians know that he is a productive player and if they give him another contract, it will benefit them with many ways.
First it will give sustainability to the Indians’ outfield which did not perform well in the recent past season.
Secondly the Indians were short with couple of hitters in 2012 and if they do re-sign Sizemore with a long contract, this will also be a huge step forward as it will give them more depth in their hitting prowess.
