Graeme Dott set to clash against Mark Selby in Round 2: 2012 German Masters
The 2012 German Masters is underway at the Tempodrom arena in Berlin, Germany, where all top guns of the game are testing their luck before thousands of spectators present at the arena. The tournament has featured some outstanding snooker contests so far
with potters putting up a great show.
Former World Snooker Champion, Scotland’s Graeme Dott has surged into the second round of the tournament after beating Thailand’s James Wattana by an easy score line of 5-0. The Scottish potter dominated the game from the very beginning and the Thai cueman,
while sitting on his chair had to watch Dott clearing the table in all five frames.
Despite losing the final of the 2012 PartyPoker.com Shoot-Out last month, the Larkhall potter focused in his opening match. He unnerved his opponent with some extraordinary clearances of 59, 56, 66 and 51 to secure a whitewash victory over the Thai cueist.
In his post match interview with World Snooker, The Pocket Rocket said, “James didn't play as well as he can, but I was solid and didn't miss anything easy. I was pathetic at the Masters, but I played well at the Shoot-Out so I wanted to carry that on. I'm
playing well enough to win something, but it's getting harder and harder because there are too many good players.”
Dott the Pot added, “Apart from the Crucible, this is my favourite venue. I like the fact that it's all open you can watch other matches that actually helps me. Although I miscounted the scores in one frame today so maybe I need to concentrate on my own
match more!”
The World Number seven is next going to play against the World Number one, England’s Mark Selby in the second round. Selby whitewashed China’s Liu Song in their Roun 1 clash by the score line of 5-0 to set up a match against Dott.  Both Dott and Selby have
played each other before in last year’s German Masters’ quarter-final where Selby was victorious by 6-4.
