Graeme McDowell and Justin Rose: the French Open is a test
The stage is set for the biggest names in golf to battle it out on one of the most prestigious events in the European Tour, the French Open. The Open tees off on the 5th of July, 2012, at the Le Golf National.
Two stars of the game, Graeme McDowell and Justin Rose believe that the tournament is going to put up a tough challenge for the players.
Both the players are doing great for themselves at the moment. The Northern Irishman, Graeme McDowell was the runner-up at the US Open Championship. The first position in the Championship was claimed by Webb Simpson.
McDowell, commenting on his present game, said that this has been a very busy time. One tournament after the other, there has not been much time for the players to rest.
The 32-year-old is satisfied with his game and thinks this is a good time to be playing good golf.
He also said that it is always great to be at Le Golf National. He always enjoys these golf courses, nonetheless, it is hard to play here and is a challenge for everyone.
“You've got the rough that's particularly tough this year, a fast and firm golf course. You've got to hit it in the fairway and from there you have a chance to score. I'm definitely looking forward to the test this week,” he continued.
Justin Rose has been able to do quite well for himself. Rose is on top of The Race to Dubai and was the number one player in Europe in the year 2007.
He is in good form and has a really good chance of winning the French Open at Le Golf National.
The 31-year-old, talking about his previous performances and his fame at the course, said, “Obviously I know the golf course and enjoyed it in the past. In 2003, I think I finished third, I’ve had some success but guys enjoy the golf course and I think that's
testament to the tournament”.
Rose has the same point of view as McDowell. He also believes that this course is a real challenge and it will prove to be a difficult test for every player.
