Graeme McDowell is ready for Arnold Palmer Invitational
Graeme McDowell, a winning team member of the Tavistock Cup, is heading to Arnold Palmer Invitational in Florida.
The 32-year-old Northern Irish professional displayed an amazing performance at the Tavistock Cup and is now preparing to pile up big scores at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard.
It is an exciting tournament and organised by the PGA Tour. This event is staged at the Floridian site of the Bay Hill Club & Lodge, Orlando.
All the players will be playing for a $6,000,000 purse, from March 22 to 25, 2012. The winner will earn handsome figures of the $1,080,000 and additional 500 FedEx Cup points.
The field is tough and McDowell has to put in extra efforts to be impressive against the field players. He is excited and in his full form for the upcoming event.
He has played well since January, on both the PGA and the European Tours. He started the current season on the European Tour and scored well at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.
McDowell finished the tournament on the third position and earned €107,577 at the end of the day.
Then he also played the Commercialbank Qatar Masters presented by Dolphin Energy and finished on the 59th.
His performance on the European Tour was satisfactory. After recording a great finish in the Middle East, he arrived in the US and played the mega event of the Accenture Match Play Championship.
This event was staged by the World Golf Championship and he finished on the 33rd spot.
Later, he recorded his best PGA finish, at the Honda Classic, by competing well against the hundreds and finished tied on the 9th place.
Similarly, his performance at the WGC- Cadillac Championship was also appreciable, as he finished tied for the 13th.
He covered amazing driving distance there and was also accurate on the greens.
McDowell was part of Team Lake Nona that won the Tavistock Cup on March 20, 2012. He supported his team by scoring a 6-under in the first round and a 3-under par in the second round as well.
Team Lake Nona won the title for the fifth time and defeated Isleworth with a two-stroke lead. McDowell displayed enormous scores there and supported the team's combined scores.
McDowell is now gearing up for the Floridian event. His presence in the field of the Arnold Palmer Invitational is making the tournament even more appealing and interesting.
He is also the hottest contender of the title and will be showing some major scores in Florida.
