South Africa cricket team captain Graeme Smith has said that they will use a spin-oriented bowling strategy when they play New Zealand in the third quarter-final of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2011 on Friday.
“Spinners love being here, especially South African spinners,” said Smith in the pre-match press conference. “They don't get as much help back home, so to be able to execute their skills in these conditions is very exciting for them.”

Smith opted to give the new ball to the spinners Robin Peterson and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Johan-Botha-c67173 often during the group stage and is expected to stick with the plan when they play New Zealand in Dhaka. Peterson has picked up 14 wickets so far while the Pakistan-born
leg-spinner http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imran-c64193 Tahir- who made his debut for the Proteas during the ongoing World Cup- has taken 12 wickets.
Smith hailed the spin trio and said that all the three spinners are very different from each other and have performed different roles at different times. However, the good thing about the versatile spin attack, according to Smith is that
they have worked well together in the mega cricketing event.
“The versatility of the guys has been great,” said the 30-year-old. “Imran's definitely been the more attacking option for us. To have him in the line-up adds a bit more to me as a captain. Robbie (Peterson) has been around for a long time
but it is only now that people have started to show a lot of confidence in him as a cricketer.”
The Proteas skipper said that it is just because of the team effort that they have performed so well in the tournament and was hopeful his men will continue the good work in the knockout stage as well.
