Graeme Storm eyes the Nordea Masters in desperation, lacks consistency!
Graeme Storm has been out of luck since the day he became a professional golfer. This man had talent, style and the right craft, yet, his luck has been somewhere else.
The Nordea Masters is the next step for Storm to uplift his career with the hopes of winning it.
Storm turned professional in 2000 and looked promising. The 34-year-old British golfer had a smooth style of play and had precision in his game. The only aspect he missed in his game play was consistency.
In the game of golf, if one does not sustain consistency, his achievements are completely over shadowed. Tiger Woods’ example is prominent enough to consider consistency as the most crucial aspect of a golfer’s career.
Storm has a total of three professional wins to his name that include one European Tour victory and two Challenge Tour wins.
He had the drive, yet was not consistent in keeping up and getting better at the craft of golf.
His participation in major tournaments has been almost negligible, as he has not been active at all or has missed numerous cuts during his career.
Golf has become competitive with the inclusion of young blood. People like Rory McIlroy and Luke Donald are the new kings of the game of golf. It is indeed very tough and requires a bigger skill-set as compared to the past criteria.
This year, Storm is looking forward to the Nordea Masters in the hopes of reviving his career as a professional golfer. His career is already in shambles and requires a boost in the form of important wins.
His recent performance at the Celtic Manor’s Welsh Open was indeed disappointing, as he looked good in the early rounds.
“It was just so disappointing because I was playing well enough. It was just two holes which cost me and frustration set in. I made a couple of bad mistakes and was punished for them,” said Storm, concluding his play at the Celtic Manor’s Welsh Open.
The Nordea Masters is a tough competition for Storm. His participation may go unheard as he requires consistency of the highest level. Only time will define his future career as a golfer.
