Graeme Storm played well at the Volvo China Open, as he finished tied for the 52nd position after making a 69 in the final round, on Sunday.
The 34-year-old English professional golf player has not won any titles in the current year. He missed the cut in four events since the start of the current season, but managed to display a balanced game at the Binhai Lake Golf Club in Tianjin, China.
He amazed the spectators and his fans after hitting 5 impressive birdies. On the other hand, he put his skills to test on the course and was bogey-free till the end of the day.
In the first round, he shot a 5-under 67 and claimed a top-5 leaderboard position successfully. However, he was unable to maintain his leading position, as he scored a 3-over par in the second round on Friday.
He was seen struggling to score well, as he posted only four birdies in the entire round. His strokes were fine, but he carded three bogeys and two double bogeys. Scoring five times over par took him down.
He put his best foot forward on Sunday. He shot three birdies and three bogeys in the round. Despite making all-out efforts, his score was not good enough to make any difference on the leaderboard.
In the final round on Sunday, he played well and scored a 3-under 69, after shooting four birdies and one bogey. He only performed well in the first and the last round, whereas lost focus in the second and the third.
Storm finished the tournament by achieving a 5-under 283. He shared the position with seven other professionals.
He turned professional in 2000, and has won only three professional events in total. Among the three, one win was made on the European Tour in 2007, and the other two on the Challenge Tour in 2004.
More importantly, he never made the cut at major tournaments and faced trouble scoring well most of the time.
After shooting 67 and 69, he showed his fans that he can play well in future. Analysts said that scoring well is giving him extra confidence, which will help him fix his lapses.
There are plenty of events coming up ahead, and Storm can deliver his best, as he has good chances to record a victory in the current year.
