http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TT-Bresnan-c2711 will be fit before the first Test of the series against South Africa, at the Oval, which begins on July 19th.
The bowling duo missed the later stages of the recently concluded One Day International (ODI) series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 because of their respective injuries.
The upcoming series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 is considered to be one of the most important events of recent times, as the winner will clinch the number one Test ranking. The two teams are evenly balanced and the fans are expecting the battle to be an intriguing
one.
The former Zimbabwean skipper feels that Swann and Bresnan play for England in all the three formats of the game, naturally taking more strain on their bodies, which he feels, is the reason behind their injuries.
The mentor revealed that both the bowlers are going through rehabilitation and they are all set to be a part of England's playing-XI for the Oval Test.
"Swann has a cortisone injection in his elbow - and with the combination of rest and the injection, he should be fit for the Test. They have had these ongoing elbow problems, both Swann and Bresnan. Our medical staff believe they will be fit and available
for selection for the first Test," Flower said.
The two cricketers are facing a similar kind of an elbow injury but Swann’s participation in the series against the Proteas is extremely crucial, as he has been an integral part of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013’s success in the recent years and is expected to play a massive role
in the forthcoming battle.
The off-spinner’s injury is not threatening but Flower expressed that the team management did not want to take a chance with the player’s fitness, which is the reason why he was rested for the last two ODIs against the Kangaroos.
The mentor added, "But it's a strenuous exercise, being a bowler playing international cricket. They play all three forms of the game. So that's why Swann missed a big part of the one-day series and why we rested Bresnan on occasion."
