England’s off-spinner, Graeme Swann, has backed left-arm spinner, Monty Panesar, to be by his side in the upcoming Test series against Pakistan, and expressed that he loves to have a partner bowling from the other end.
The Test series between the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE), and spinners from both the teams are expected to play a huge role in deciding the fate of the series.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AJ-Strauss-c964 and company usually rely on their fast bowlers to win Test matches, but the conditions in UAE are going to support slow bowlers. This is the reason why Panesar has made a comeback in international cricket after a long time.
However, Swann remains the key to England's success in the Test series and feels that his team will have to play with two spinners to dismantle Pakistan because fast bowlers will not find much support on the batting tracks of UAE.
The left-arm spinner did a great job in the practice game against the Pakistan Cricket Board XI and helped his team win the match.
Swann expressed, "In fact, I hope England pick two spinners. I would love to have Monty Panesar wheeling away at the other end when the First Test begins on Tuesday. He is certainly in form, after taking eight wickets in our win over the Pakistan Cricket
Board XI. I love playing with another spinner at the other end.”
It is going to be a dilemma for the English team management to pick the playing eleven because http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JM-Anderson-c1705 and Chris Tremlett have been doing very well in Test cricket since last one year and one of them would have to sit out if England
plays the extra spinner.
Swann believes that having Panesar bowling from the other end is going to help his own performance as well.
"We can bowl in tandem or give each other a break from bowling. First, though, we will need to look at the pitch. If it plays similarly to the one for the warm-ups, I think two spinners might be a real possibility," the off-spinner added.
