England’s ace spinner, Graeme Swann is confident that the Poms will not fall easy prey to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 in the second T20I, scheduled to be played on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
The English top notch believes that his side has what it takes to defeat the Men in Green in the remaining two games and take the trophy home. England’s cricket team is still in high spirits despite losing the opening fixture by eight runs claims Swann.
Referring to the beating that Pakistan received at the hands of England in the ODI series, Swann said, “We've just beaten these guys 4-0 in the ODI series, so confidence is still sky high. The bowlers are bowling well, and the fielders are taking catches
- I don't see any reason why we can't win the next two.”
The off-spinner further said that English team will remain calm and will not make any hasty decisions, as some people think they will. He said, “We certainly won't do what a lot of people think we should and panic about it.”
Swann registered his best T20I bowling figures on Thursday, when he picked up three wickets for 13 runs. It was his magical bowling that troubled the Pakistani batsmen, who were scoring quite freely in the beginning.
However, the off-spinners efforts went in vain because his side came out second best. It was the toe crushing bowling from Pakistani pacer Umar “Gul-dozer” Gul that won the game for the Green Shirts.
English batsmen were unable to play the in-dipping yorkers from Gul, who was declared the man of the match for taking the wickets of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Samit-Patel-c2426.
Swann is positive that the story won’t be the same in second game. The off-spinner is positive that the English batsmen will cope with the threat posed by the Pakistani Gul-dozer.
He said, “He bowled very well, but in some of the one-dayers we really got after him. We know we can get after http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Umar-Gul-c94604. He bowled exceptionally well last night. But I'm sure, in the next couple of games, our batsmen will step up to the plate and do that.”
