Graeme Swann jumps to third spot in one day rankings
The England off spinner Graeme Swann, who in his recent performances against Pakistan has left many cricket fans stunned has jumped 15 places in the ICC cricket rankings to a career-best third spot in the wake of a massive win
for England in the final one day match of the series, a win that was made possible mainly due to the heroics of Swann and Eoin Morgan.
Swann swiftly led to the annihilation of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 middle order and his superb deliveries that turned tremendously made it extremely difficult for the Pakistan batsmen to spot the trajectory of the ball after it pitched on the
wicket. Graeme Swann bagged 11 wickets in the series, and was highly successful for England.
Umar Gul on the other hand has improved his bowling ranking considerably as well and climbed 18 places to reach the 23rd place in the ICC one day bowling rankings after he finished the 5 match series against England
with 12 wickets. His bowling made it possible for the vulnerable Pakistan side to win the Oval ODI despite the odds being highly against them, following a 100 run opening partnership between Strauss and Davies. Saeed Ajmal, the quirky spinner from Pakistan
is ranked 13 in the ICC ODI bowling rankings.
Eoin Morgan has also enjoyed a good series against Pakistan, and following his match winning 107 in the last match, the England batsman now enjoys the number 14th spot in ICC ODI rankings. Andrew Strauss, the England
captain has also been in tremendous form during the ODI series against Pakistan and on several occasions has given England a perfect start in the matches.
This was also the first time that England has had to play in the midst of a controversy of such magnitude, and the raw emotions amongst the players was witnessed during a scuffle between Wahab Riaz and Jonathan Trott where reportedly
the latter had grabbed the former by the throat.
England however, have emerged victorious out of the ODI series. Their win though has not affected their overall ODI rankings and England remain on 5th place in the ICC rankings behind http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757
all of whom are tied on 112 points. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 however remain the leaders being at the top of the table with a 17 point gap over their nearest adversary in the ICC rankings.
