Council’s (ICC) Code of Conduct. Swann was reprimanded for kicking the stumps, dislodging the bails.
The offence came from the English off spinner following a wrap up of the 80th over, on the second day of the Test fixture at Trent Bridge.
According to Swann, the offence was conducted out of mere frustration; however, the player, admitting his fault, quickly apologised to the on-field umpires, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Marais-Erasmus-c74368. Other officials to reprimand Swan included the Emirate Elite Panel
of ICC’s third and fourth umpires, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Robert-Timothy-Robinson-c86214.
Based on the rules and regulations set out by the International cricketing governing body, Swann was charged for breaching Article 2.1.2 of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625’s Code of Conduct. According to the rule book, the charges apply on any player during an international match
for 'abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during an international match'.
As for Swann, the player has been penalised for a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct.
Swann’s act comes as the second of the match, after Indian spearhead, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/P-Kumar-c2143, was fined for arguing with the on-field umpire. The Indian was charged 20 per cent of his match fee after entering into a prolonged argument with umpire Erasmus, over an
LBW decision.
During the opening day of the second Test game, Erasmus turned down Kumar’s appeal against a probable Leg before Wicket (LBW) chance against English batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KP-Pietersen-c1806, in the 18th over. Following the umpire’s decision, the Indian went into an argument
with Erasmus.
With the close of the day, the player admitted his offence and accepted the penalty by the ICC match referee http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ranjan-Senerath-Madugalle-c83994. As for Swann, the player too shared a similar fate as Kumar, after which the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees concluded
the happening without a formal hearing.
