England coach Andy Flower on Tuesday announced that the spinner Graeme Swann is returning home from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 because of lower back strain but should be fit
for the World Cup commencing on the 19th of February.
Swann, who has been a key player in England’s first Ashes victory in Australia after a long period of 24 years, but was already suffering from the knee injury
he got during batting in the one-day series.
"Graeme Swann will be taking the earliest flight home," Flower told reporters in Adelaide.
Coach Flower, while talking about Graeme’s injury told that the spinner was suffering from back strain as well as knee problem and in such case he was in dire
need of taking rest, so that he could be ready for the World Cup.
Andy said that the absence of such an important player was really a big blow for his team as he was a World class performer having full confidence in his abilities
especially after Ashes.
"We are coming towards the end of a long, hard tour and certainly the physical challenges are starting to take their toll."
The coach being optimistic said that he was confident that both Swann and Tim Bresnan, who also has gone back to his country with a ton calf muscle, would be
available to play in the mega event jointly held by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747.
31 year old Swann has performed in 44 ODIs, picked 60 wickets with an average of 24.63 facing 1478 runs off 1962 balls.
All-rounder Bresnan has participated in the second match of the ODI series, where he took two wickets in nine overs and scored 19 runs against Australia.
Besides these two players, England will also be missing paceman Stuart Broad in the remaining four matches of the ODI series against Australia which the hosts
are leading by 3-0. Broad had also missed the last three Ashes tests due to torn abdominal muscle.
"It is good to have him out here with the squad again," said Flower.
In Flower’s view the player would be a key part of the World Cup squad as he had good exposure of training with his teammates.
