Graeme Swann wants to hamper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chinnadupargea-Sachin-c50607 Tendulkar from scoring runs – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/GP-Swann-c1501, the only specialist English spinner, has reiterated Team England’s aim to prevent Sachin Tendulkar, the Indian batting maestro, from scoring runs in the remaining three games of the 4-match Test series, as he thinks that it is the only way
for the home team to win the series and earn the top spot in International Cricket Council's Test rankings.
Tendulkar poses to be the batting mainstay of Team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 along with being the world’s highest scorer. The tourists are heavily relying on him to pile up big scores against the hosts. Moreover, the rock-star is looking to lash his 100th International
century in this series.
Tendulkar, who failed to make an impact in the 1st Test at Lord’s, is geared up to compensate the loss by scoring extravagantly in the next games of the series. In the last match, Tendulkar contributed 34 and 12 runs respectively in the first
and second innings of his team which lost the game by 196 runs.
The English bowlers delivered marvellous and magnificent performances at Lord’s and Swann hopes to extend this thriving momentum to the next games as well.
The ‘offie’ reveals that containing sachin is at the top of their bowling strategy. In a newspaper column, he wrote, “We stopped the Little Master, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556, from making a big score at Lord's and our aim is to starve him of runs all series.”
He further scripted, “It can't be easy for Sachin because he carries the expectation of the entire Indian nation on his shoulders every time he goes out to bat. And now it is even more intense because he is just one away from a century of centuries."
As the Indian batsmen are famous for taking spinners like hot cakes, Swann proved to be a costly bowler in the last game and managed to take only 2 wickets by conceding 114 runs in 41 overs. Despite a strenuous struggle, he could not fulfill his desire to
dismiss Tendulkar.
The 32-year-old right-arm off-spinner has 33 Test matches with 142 wickets to his credit. He made his Test debut against India in 2008.
