2008/09 Bundesliga champions, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881, are in for a major shock as striker Grafite has decided to part ways with the club. The Brazilian did not have a memorable 2010/11 season but was still an influential figure in front of the goal. Along with Patrick
Helmes and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dieumerci-Mbokani-c11230, he formed a formidable partnership upfront which was the reason behind the club’s survival in the top flight.
On June 10, it was reported that the player has been in talks with the Dubai-based club, Al-Ahli Dubai, and looks all set to join them this summer. The Red Knights are seemingly in contact with Wolfsburg and it is believed that both the clubs and the player
have agreed on a 3 million Euros transfer fee.
The Brazilian seemed pleased with the ongoing developments and was looking forward to playing in Dubai. Al-Ahli caretaker manager, Abdul Hamid Al Mistaki, also expressed delight at the prospect of Grafite playing, saying that the striker would certainly
boost the squad and would be a huge benefit for the club’s upcoming youngsters. He also added that the 32-year-old would surely be a regular part of the club’s starting line-up and wished that the Brazilian international could propel the club to new heights.
Grafite started his playing career with Brazilian outfit, Ferroviaria, in 2001 but unfortunately could not appear in a single game and switched to another Brazilian club, Santa Cruz, during the same year. There he managed 22 league appearances, netting five
goals during the process. The striker also represented other Brazilian clubs Gremio, Goias, Sao http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904.
He became a Wolfsburg player in 2007 and has managed 107 league appearances, scoring 59 times in return. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Grafite-c15198 was the club’s highest goal scorer during the 2008/09 season, scoring a stunning 28 goals in 25 appearances, which enabled his side to lift the
Bundesliga crown. In the season ended, the player could only manage 9 goals from 28 games.
The striker is now closer to a move to the Dubai-based club and is highly expected to be there in a few weeks time.
