Gragane Girl and Knutmeg joint favourites for William Hill Hotbox Bet Stakes
Gragane Girl and Knutmeg have been rated as joint favourites for the William Hill Hotbox Bet Stakes 480 metres race at Newcastle in England on Wednesday, April 4, 2012. The triumphant runner will walk away with a cash prize of £118.
The Grade A1 event, which is scheduled to start at 13:12 GMT, had attracted six entries and their names are: Gragane Girl, Knutmeg, Courtcraft Major, Blue Juttle, Skywalker Pat and Forever After.
However, the latter of the above six entries is doubtful for the race. He was the least favourite to win, as his has never raced in this class. Still, he could have managed to win, as his recent form in other grades was good.
The bookies believe that Gragane Girl will be quite competitive in the race, as she has been producing some decent results at Newcastle. She has managed to win a couple of races out of her past five outings, which indicates that her rhythm is very good at
the moment.
However, D. Calvert’s trainee did not have a very good time in her most recent outing, where she could only manage a fourth place finish. She was not the favourite for that race, but still managed to trouble the front runners.
The seasoned b***h is the daughter of Hondo Black out of Sempers Girl and was born in September 2008.
On the other hand, Knutmeg will also be the one to watch out for at Newcastle. He was in good form in his previous race, winning it comfortably. However, winning in this class will not be easy, as the rest of the participants are quite competitive.
A. Dawson’s trainee has the winning momentum on his side, but he will need a clear run in order to challenge Gragane Girl. The black dog is the son of Hotshow Ben out of Jackies Lady and was born in October 2009.
Other than the top two, Courtcraft Major might manage to cause a few problems for his opponents, as he has is fully capable of fighting for victories. The rest of the participants might not be able to make an impression, as the top three favourites are in
great form.
