Graham Fox all set for the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles
The time is almost here for one of the most prestigious golfing events of the year, the Johnnie Walker Championship. The venue for this event is going to be the Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire, Scotland. The event is going to tee off on the 23rd
of August and being a four-day event, it is going to end on the 26th of August.
All the players are looking to qualify for the event which is going to take place at the Gleneagles. Graham Fox is one of the players who has quite successfully qualified for the Johnnie Walker Championship.
Fox performed quite well at the Gleneagles Scottish PGA Championship and was able to book a place for himself in the Championship. The Scottish Championship took place at the Gleneagles.
He had a magnificent score of two-under par on the last day as he completed the course in 69 shots. His total score was fifteen-under par.
The last time Fox played this event was in the year 2002 and now he is looking forward to the event, as he will be appearing with many of his friends.
In an interview he said, “The opportunity to secure a place in the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles was a huge incentive not just to play well, to win, the Tartan Tour’s flagship event. It is always great to be able to play the King’s Course and
to enjoy all the history and tradition it represents, however The PGA Centenary Course is definitely one of the toughest”.
“This year’s event has the added focus of Ryder Cup points for some players. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to go back to Gleneagles, the challenges of playing in this event and renewing old friendships,” he added.
The last year in the Gleneagles Scottish PGA Championship, Fox finished on the eighth spot. This year, he will be appearing with many of the biggest names in the world of golf as the Championship starts.
This would be truly a tough tournament because this is the last tournament before the Ryder Cup 2012 starts.
