Gooch, who was part of three unsuccessful England World Cup squads, said that the current team can succeed where he failed during his distinguished and lengthy cricketing career as an England opener.
"Winning a World Cup didn't happen for me," said Gooch while talking to the media reporters on Monday. "I hope this team have got it within them to win the World Cup - and I'm convinced they have," he added.
