Graham Henry praises his side for their electrifying performance against Springboks - Rugby
The All Blacks coach, Graham Henry, has appreciated his side for their brilliant show against the limping Springboks. Henry’s side routed the South African team by a remarkable difference of 40-7 in their inaugural match of the Tri-Nations Cup on July 30
in Westpac Stadium, Wellington.
The Boks proved too rusty for the time tested All Blacks and gave away an easy victory to the hosts. The New Zealanders scored six tries to clinch a well deserved victory.
Talking to journalists after the match, Graham Henry said that his side played up to the mark in today’s clash and the victory will boost their confidence for the upcoming match against the Wallabies. All Blacks will take on Australia in their next clash
of the Tri-Nations on August 6.
Henry praised Cory Jane and Zac Guildford for their excellent approach in the match and said that the pair has never disappointed the selectors with his performance. Jane and Guildford scored two tries each for their team and contributed 20 points in the
All Blacks’ total.
Talking about the pair Henry said that, “I thought Zac Guildford and Cory Jane were quite outstanding tonight. Both of them played exceptionally well in all aspects of the game - high ball, defensively, ability to chime in from the opposite wing, looking
for those little inside balls and so on. And they scored two tries so they couldn't do any more. They had big games.”
Henry urged his side to display the same kind of performance against the Wallabies and said that next weekend’s clash will be a real test for his side. Henry argued that, “I think it's going to be a test of our mentality, our ability to handle things that
are quite different to what the South Africans do because of the back play of the Australians.”
The All Blacks are in a good nick at the moment as they have won both their previous test matches by healthy margins. The New Zealanders won their season opener test against Fiji by 60-14 on July 22 and thrashed the Springboks by 40-7.
