http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Australia-c844 fight back against Queensland in Sheffield Shield
South Australia (SA) managed to reach 200 for the loss of five wickets against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Queensland-c834 at tea on the second day of a Sheffield Shield match at the Adelaide Oval.
Queensland were bowled out for 347 after winning the toss and batting first yesterday. SA had to bat a few overs late in the day and their openers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Smith-c1654 made sure that their team ended the day without losing a wicket.
The wicket had eased out today to some extent as it had no support for the bowlers in it. However, a few cracks opened up allowing the ball to turn a little. The start to the day was positive for SA as the openers constructed a half-century partnership for
their team. However, both batsmen failed to capitalise on the starts they got and were dismissed within a span of just six runs.
Harris was the first man to be dismissed after scoring 23 runs off 69 balls. Smith soon followed after scoring 37 runs from 69 balls before throwing his wicket away. From 60 without loss, SA slumped to 66 for the loss of two wickets and Queensland looked
like they were in control of the match. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Aiden-Blizzard-c958 then stabilised the innings and put together a solid 60-run stand for the third wicket.
However, Borgas could not stay at the wicket for too long. He was out after scoring 29 runs off 61 balls. His wicket brought SA Captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Daniel-Christian-c1308 to the crease. Christian failed to provide support to Blizzard and was dismissed without scoring a single
run. He had to take the long walk back to the pavilion and his team was yet again struggling with four wickets down for just 135 runs.
Wicketkeeper batsman Graham Manou then helped Blizzard rescue the team from trouble and the pair took the score close to 200 with a 62-run partnership. Blizzard was out just before tea, scoring a brilliant 64 runs off 118 balls. Manou was unbeaten on 34
when the umpires called the session off.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Michael-Neser-c1960 took two wickets each for their team. They will be looking forward to wrap-up the SA innings in the first hour of the last session of play.
