Graham Thorpe denies witnessing any match fixing during his career – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Graham-Paul-Thorpe-c60622, the former cricketer from England, has denied witnessing any match fixing during his 12-year career. The former cricketer holds true that English cricketers of his time refrained from taking part in such activities.
Thorpe asserts that everyone in the English team was aware of the repercussions they would have had to face if found guilty of match fixing. The left-handed batsman alleged that Asian countries are more involved in such acts.
“It was pretty much clear to us, what would happen if anyone was involved in it. I don’t think it took place during my time. Everyone might tell that it was more of an Asian thing than English players involved in it and I would
say yes it was, its just as simple as that,” said the 42 years old Thorpe.
The stylish left-hander rants that English players of 90’s era least cared about fixing and were focused on playing cricket.
Thorpe said, “We did not have a great knowledge of fixing matches or whether it was being done during that time. We didn’t really think about it to be honest.”
Corruption and match fixing has become the topic of discussion after the three cricketers representing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Salman-Butt-c2418, have been sentenced to jail time for participating in spot-fixing.
Thorpe believes that certain matches in the past had a dramatic touch to them and if International Cricket Council (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625) anti-corruption unit checks their videos they may find further evidences of match fixing.
“I suppose it is only when you look back now and think about that, there were some games which were dodgy and if you see their videos you may find a few. But in terms of when we were playing NO,” claimed the 42-year-old.
Thorpe first arrived in the International arena on May 19, 1993, in an ODI match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 from 1993 to 2005. Thorpe’s last international Test match was played against
