Graham Thorpe to replace Dene Hills as new ECB lead batting coach
ECB has appointed former English batsman, Graham Thrope, as lead batting coach. Thrope will replace Dene Hills who will be moving to Australia later this year to join Kangaroos after a successful tenure of two years in the role.
In his role as the ECB lead batting coach, he will work primarily with young English players. Working with the England Performance Programme squad in Australia will be the first task of Thrope. He will also be responsible for coaching batsmen for England
Lions as well as overseeing the performance of players within the England Development programme.
41-year-old Graham Thrope, having scored 6744 runs at a batting average of 44.66, is one of the finest batsmen of England in recent times. In his 12-year international career, Thrope has played 100 Tests. Thrope left international cricket in 2005 shortly
before the Ashes series and moved to Sydney, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 as its batting coach.
