Swansea City striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-c10193 Graham, has admitted on being frustrated biding his time on the bench, but ruled out an exit in January.
The English International has made limited starts this season, as the Liberty Stadium boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Laudrup, prefers to play summer signing Michu in the attacking position. The Spaniard is currently the second highest goalscorer in the league with 13 scalps
behind http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380.
Subsequently, the 27-year old appeared in some rumours ahead of the January window that he might part ways with the Welsh club in order to get more playing time on the field.
Laudrup had earlier said in an interview that he was not planning on letting go of the forward in January, as he viewed him as an important part of his future plans.
Nonetheless, Graham himself has revealed that he is staying put at the Liberty Stadium. The Gateshead native confessed that he was frustrated on being pushed to the bench, but said that he will not contemplate leaving as long as his manager wants him to
stay.
“The gaffer says he wants to sit down with the players who haven't been playing as much. If the gaffer [Laudrup] wants me to stay I'll stay,” he told the reporters in an interview.
“It's been very frustrating. I want to play football, I don't want to sit on the bench. I don't want to sit around and pick up money, I want to play and contribute to the team.”
In Michu’s absence, Graham scored a goal on Saturday to help his side beat Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage and stay in the top half of the table. The South http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wales-c3041 outfit have gone from strength to strength since their entry into the English top-flight last season.
They are currently eleven points clear of the drop zone.
Although the striker is not pleased with his current status in the squad, he said that instead of criticizing his manager, he is working harder than ever in the training sessions to reclaim a regular spot in the team.
“I haven't gone in and banged on the gaffer's door shouting why I haven't been playing and stuff like that, I've just got my head down in training,” he added.
