Gramatica or Mehlhaff?

Which kicker will start for new orleans?

I liked Mehlaff last night, but Gramatica has more experience, so I'm not sure on this one.

That's a tough call, because both have looked good this offseason. Gramatica has more experience, but Mehlhaff has youth and a stronger leg on his side. Sean Payton likes kickers with good leg strength as it gives them a field position advantage at kickoffs. That's why he brought in Olindo Mare over John Carney last year, and that's why he drafted Mehlhaff this year. Of course, Mare sucked at field goals, so they need a kicker who is accurate and reliable as well, and Gramatica has been that so far with the Saints. I would like to see them keep both kickers -- Gramatica for field goals and Mehlhaff for kickoffs -- but I think it's more likely they will only keep one. If the Saints decide they want to build for the future, they will go with Mehlhaff, but if they decide they want to go with someone who will help them win now, they will choose Gramatica.

being a fan of the team i feel that Mehlhaff is a lot better than Gramatica

Melhaff has a stronger leg, better accuracy and is young
