Question:

Grammer question???

Sometimes when I use the word 'too' I put a comma before the word, right after the last word used. Other times, not using a comma at all seems right to me.

I don't know which is correct.

For example, which of these two sentences are right...

"I saw the comet, too."

...or...

"I saw the comet too."

The first one looks right to me but I'm not sure. Then with other sentences, not using a comma seems right.

What do you think?

Thanks...

  1. yup comma has something to do in building sentence, comma is use to stop or a while.in your sentence " i saw a comet too" it doesn't need a comma, because no need to stop for a while.

  2. Well, commas mean pauses in a sentence. I would think the second one is correct in the choices you just gave. You would say that sentence without pausing so no comma is needed.

  3. It is the second one. comma.

One way to decide which is right is to read sentence putting the break in there and see if it sounds right. If it doesn't, you don't need a comma.

  4. The second sentence is right. You ususally use commas when you are combining two sentences together using the conjunctions: and, or, nor, for, but, yet.
