Gran Turismo 5 Spec 2.0 details revealed on Twitter – Part 2
Kazunori Yamauchi and his team at Polyphony Digital have been hard at work, refining and enhancing the experience of their latest title, Gran Turismo 5, and are set to release a major update for their game.
The first article highlighted a number of features and changes which would come with the update, Spec 2.0, with the announcement that there would be a Nissan GT-R N24 Schulze Motorsport included, as well as features set to please both NASCAR fans, as in-game
photographers, among other things.
This part of the article will take a look at some of the other features set to come with the download.
Online matchmaking will be given a major makeover as an Online Lounge Expansion is set to be introduced which will add more options for gamers searching for a race. On the other hand, it seems that Mr. Yamauchi has been listening to the requests of fans
as the update will also allow gamers to save the game in mid-race. The issue was something that every fan complained about while playing the Endurance series of races, some of which would actually take 24 hours to complete.
Another feature which should have come with the release version of the game, yet did not, but is finally making its way on to Gran Turismo 5, is the option for gamers to rewind and fast forward the replays which follow the race.
This may not seem that big a deal to many, but for racers who want to watch one highlight of a race without having to sit through the replay from start to finish, this feature will be a revelation.
Many gamers also complained about the jumbled up User Interface. Kazunori Yamauchi also tweeted that the User Interface had also been tweaked, yet without a screen shot or a video, no one can comment on whether that has been done for better or worse.
A new opening movie will also come with the update, as will the ability to save multiple car settings at a time. This should make tuning cars before each individual race much less of a hassle for the more advanced and technically knowledgeable players.
In an almost FIFA-like move, players can now control what weather setting they wish to play in, which again is something that should have come with the release version of Gran Turismo 5.
The final feature is something absolutely every player wanted in the game and Polyphony Digital have responded by adding a simplified interior view on every single standard car model. It may not look great, but it seems good enough to serve its purpose.
