Gran Turismo 5 Spec 2.0 goes live! DLC details released, 15 cars stunning cars included
As promised by Kazunori Yamauchi and Polyphony Digital, the Spec 2.0 update for Gran Turismo 5 is now live and players will be prompted to download the update once the start the game from their PlayStation 3 consoles.
The update brings a number of significant improvements and changes to the game, all of which were the result of feedback from players who played Gran Turismo 5.
Standard Interior views for all cars that previously did not have an interior view, an option to fast forward and rewind replays and the ability to save progress mid-race during the lengthy endurance races will be added with the update, among other features
as well.
Another thing that the update brings with it is access to Gran Turismo 5’s first line of Downloadable Content Packs.
There is a Racing Car Pack, a Racing Gear Pack, a Track Pack, a Paint Pack and a Complete Pack (which has all the other packs included in it).
The Racing Car Pack seems the only one worth considering as it is set to add 15 new cars to the player’s in-game garage. The cars are varied and each looks stunning in its own right.
Fans of Gran Turismo 5 will know all about the Red Bull X2010 Prototype from Gran Turismo 5 and will be pleased to know that Red Bull have released the new model to the fastest car in the previous game which will feature in the DLC: the Red Bull X2011 Prototype
’11.
There is plenty of variety in the cars as well with a Dodge Challenger SRT8 Touring Car, a Honda CR-Z Touring Car, a Mazda Roadster Touring Car as well as a Mazda RX-7 Touring Car.
There are plenty of Nissans as well, which comes as no surprise seeing how the car manufacturer is one of the partners of the game. The Nissan GT-R R35 Touring Car, Nissan SKYLINE GT-R R33 Touring Car, Nissan SKYLINE GT-R R32 Touring Car and finally the
Nissan SKYLINE GT-R R34 Touring Car are also in the Racing Car pack.
There are also three new Karts with the Gran Turismo RACING KART Jr., the GT RACING KART 100 and the GT RACING KART 125 thrown in for good measure.
To stir up some rivalry as well there is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Touring Car and its nemesis the Subaru IMPREZA Touring Car.
Last but not the least, the Toyota PRIUS Touring Car will also feature in the DLC.
As for prices, the Racing Car Pack will cost around $7.99, the Course Pack for $4.99, the Racing Gear Pack for $2.99, the Paint Pack for $1.99 and the Complete Pack looks the best deal costing $11.99 when the DLC pack is released.
