Gran Turismo 5 Spec II details, Army of Four rumoured to be in development
Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo series and Electronic Arts’ Army of Two franchise are both making the back-page gaming headlines these days with announcements of a new retail version available for the former and a three-quel for the latter grabbing themselves
a few glances.
Starting things off on the racing track and Kazunori Yamauchi and his team at Polyphony Digital are set to re-launch Gran Turismo 5 for a second time but this time as Spec II.
Basically, Spec II is the same game as the original Gran Turismo 5, which came out over a year ago, but with the Spec 2.0 update and all the Downloadable Content already on the BluRay Disc.
For those who do not know, the racing simulation game received a major update a few weeks back, which saw a number of changes and tweaks. A new intro video was added, as were driver’s seat views for all cars in the game, albeit the standard cars only got
an all black bland interior, as well as a host of minor changes.
Spec II is set to demo for the entirety of the Tokyo Motor Show, which is set to take place from the 3rd of December all the way till the 11th of the same month. Gran Turismo has always been an ever present at a number of motor shows,
where it also has the honour of handing out awards with the winners having their cars modelled and available for racing in the game as well.
According to Andriasang gamers can expect to, “Look for the complete GT5 (Gran Turismo 5) package on February 2, priced at 4,980 yen.” The amount rounds off to approximately 40 British Pounds.
However, there has been no confirmation from the game’s publisher, Sony, as to whether or not Spec II will be making its way to retail outlets in other regions such as the United States or Europe as well.
Knowing Sony, a version should be on its way across the pond soon, yet soon could mean a couple of months just as easily as it could mean a few weeks.
Moving on to the second story and according to anonymous source, Electronic Arts are working on Army of Four.
Again, for those who are not familiar with the ‘Army of’ series, here is a bit of an introduction. EA released the original game titled, “Army of Two” and was based around cooperative gameplay both online and offline.
Army of Two: the 40th Day was the follow up and took place in China, well ruins of a Chinese city torn apart by terrorists.
Now it seems that the next game in the series is rumoured to be titled, Army of Four, and as the name suggests will be based around four player co-op gameplay.
