Gran Turismo 5 teases a DLC pack and Spec 2.0 update, more tracks and premium cars?
The latest iteration of the ‘most realistic’ racing simulation is set to receive a massive update and more importantly, a Downloadable Content Pack. The news broke after the games producer, Kazunori Yamauchi, which many in the gaming community know to be
a bit of a perfectionist, used the social networking site, Twitter, to make the announcement.
According to his tweet, “GT (Gran Turismo) fans, thanks for waiting... The GT5 Spec 2.0 update is coming in the 3rd week of October, with DLC (Downloadable Content) following a week later.”
This did two things to us and surely to the rest of the game’s community as well; firstly, it got everyone really excited and secondly, it has everyone wondering exactly what will be in the DLC pack.
Fans and gamers alike can expect the update, as the producer stated, in the third week of October, however, there is still confusion as to whether it will be released in all regions on the exact same date, or whether it will vary accordingly.
However, the Spec 2.0 update sounds like a major piece of update business, but the thing that has everyone even more excited is the announcement of the DLC. Will it include new premium modelled cars? New tracks? New racing modes? New features? Will it come
with a chance to win an actual car?!
None of these questions were answered by either Polyphony Digital or Mr. Yamauchi. However, if one was to speculate, then chances are that racers can expect more cars and tracks. The latest Gran Turismo game has received a number of updates since its launch
in the previous year and the announcement of the latest one has everyone wondering.
The one thing that should be on everyone’s mind is whether the DLC is a response to Microsoft and their recent flaunting of the latest Forza (4) game or whether the developers of Gran Turismo 5 have been working on the add-on for quite some time.
Bettor.com will bring readers more on the story as and when it develops.
