Hi everyone!

I'm off to Granada tomorrow - all a bit last minute - any tips or advice? am thinking of booking the alhambra tour online - works out to about £30pp - is it worth risking to just turn up and pay admission? I've heard that u might not get in if you do this bcos they are strict on numbers. only there till monday.

what else can i do... am hoping to get a chance to do a bit of shopping too.. can anyone recommend?

thank you all!

  2. One day won't make much difference.

For those going to Granada it's also worth checking this site out: http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/Spain...

  3. i always travel alone and i went ot Granada by bus from madrid. I arrived there at 7 am and they sell  tickets in Alhambra at 8 am but i recommend going at 7 ,30 and do what i did ...i went there by bus from the bus station and then ask a few guys who where in the line if they can buy me a ticket...it was so much easier and people from spain are so nice that they didnt have any trouble and besides that it was just me...

try that cause otherwise you will be doing a big line and they can sell only a few tickets for the morning and another amount for the afternoon.

  4. Definately get a reservation.... I know many who have been turned away... I think the price is a bit high though!

    have a great trip!

  5. Hi 3rdspace, Well what I have been hearing lately- YES - it is worth booking online if posible. If not, you can try either your alternative plan or if that is not posible, all day booked, or large cues, then you might try see if there are "reventas" - or ticket scalpers- around there selling tickets.

    Recommend:

Granada: La alhambra, better in the early morning if its a hot day, although it takes some hours if you want to enjoy it, dont miss the circular eco room

Monument to Carlos V (beside la alhambra),

    Jardinbes del Generalife - gardens

El Albaicin (barrio famous for flamenco guitar paying and danzing).

Sierra nevada & Veleta and Mulhacen mountain (only 50 km from Granada 4,100 meters high, snow and sea, easy access).

Downtown go to tiendas de Artesania "craftwork shops " look for leader, silver and wooden products. Also excellent guitar and music shops. Also many clthing shops and old hispano arab antiques and products. Downtown bar hopping at main Plaza:

Tapas: pescaitos fritos, jamon serrano, chorizo frito, boquerones etc.

    Cerveza: Cruzcampo ;O)

Can also visit also the beach (only 40 km).

    Have fun
