Granard Bound to bag the grand prize in SR Transport European Couriers Stakes at Sunderland
There are so many powerful hounds in the line-up, but one cannot afford to overlook Granard Bound’s consistent run. Although victories are not coming to his way frequently, he has been maintaining the standards over the past few weeks.
Head Bound’s rampant son is highly likely to deliver a fine performance and outsmart the opposition in the SR Transport European Couriers Stakes, taking place at Sunderland on Thursday, July 12th. The 640 metres open race, carrying a handsome cash prize of £500, will be commenced at 20:00 (GMT).
Granard Bound showed a couple of clinical performances last month. After blitzing his rivals over 480 metres, S. Mason’s charge continued the good work, ensuring the first prize in a 630 metres race on June 11th.
He was quite impressive in both of his last outings at this track, but remained unlucky. At the end of last month, he missed the gold medal only by a short head’s distance.
His misery over 640 metres continued, as he ended third last time around. He is facing a bit weaker opposition this time and thus, he is expected to unchain the shackles and open his account at this venue.
Others in the pack are: Mill Whiskers, Mays Stewart, Elwick Ghost, Macys Mojo and Cals Runner.
The Y. Bell-trained, Cals Runner, is going through a bad spell these days. The black dog was fifth in his previous trip and therefore, it is very hard to expect him to fire tonight.
Similar is the case with Macys Mojo, who was third in his only open race at the end of last month. Elwick Ghost was an easy winner, prior to his terrible defeat last weekend. After such an embarrassing defeat, it will be very difficult for him to get back to the winning ways.
Mays Stewart is coming into this battle after completing the order of finish. Mill Whiskers recently ran well in the trials, but has not yet shown anything special in the open races.
According to our calculations, Granard Bound is the safest option for the punters. We wish the best of luck to all the runners.
