I was reading my bible and it had a section in the back named non-biblical people and places. One of the non-biblical places was the Grand Canyon, will you please tell me why?

  1. The Bible does not mention the Grand Canyon, which makes GC non-Biblical.   Some people try to say that that GC was made in a very short time by flooding to counter the accepted idea that it was carved by the river over a long, long time as the land rose - since an old monk looked at all the ages in the Bible and concluded that the earth was created in 4004 BC.   Now that the Scablands in Washington has pretty well been pinned down as formed by a huge flood in the Ice Age period, the formations there that support the idea pretty much shoot down any GC formation by flooding since they are missing around the GC.

  2. The Bible was supposed to have been written way before people even knew America existed.  So how in the world can the Bible or any Christian Bible have anything in any way related to the Grand Canyon?

In my opinion, if you wanted to get close to God, the Grand Canyon would be an ideal way to do so.

  3. The Grand Canyon is certainly non-biblical, since it is in America, which the ancient Israelites knew nothing about.

  4. It might say its not biblical because it provides evidence that Earth existed a very long time (at least a few 100,000 years). Interpretations of the bible say the Earth only existed 6,000 or so years since it was made by god.

  5. Because the bible is complete nonsense.
