Grand National Question?

On Saturday there is a pretty big horse racing event in the U.K.

My question is: do the trainers or people who own the horse care whether or not we bet on their horses?

  1. In a major race, such as the Grand National...probably not. Although they might be flattered that the crowd made their horse the favorite, they are undoubtedly focused on securing the purse money. Some wealthy owners may not even care as much about the money, as the prestige.  Trainers and owners involved in less important races might actually prefer it if you DIDN'T bet on their horse, as it would drive down the odds and decrease their winnings, since many of them also make wagers.
