Rockstars GTA III tops the sales chart for Android Apps after knocking Cut the Rope off its perch. Fruit Ninja finishes in third place during the festive season.
With an eventful year coming to an end, there were a number of movers and shakers in the Android App sales charts.
Below is the weekly sales chart for the Android Apps:
10. Flick Golf! Simplifying the rather tedious game of golf and giving people the world over a place to put their flicking skills to practice, Flick Golf settles into the number ten spot.
Priced at the $1 mark (or $0.99), Flick Golf challenges players to get as close to the hole in one shot, or rather one flick. One can imagine that a fair number of experienced booger pickers will be having a field day with this game.
9. Monopoly: the portable, digital version of the popular board game has also managed to maintain its place in the top ten. The most expensive title in the charts at $4.99, it seems the family theme of the holidays made this a popular choice
for many.
8. Madden NFL 12: EA are known to have their fingers in almost money making pie in the video game industry and Android Apps are no exception. Priced at $2.99 the latest Madden game is doing the business for the publishing giant.
7. The Sims 3: another EA title in the charts, The Sims 3 allows gamers to have a virtual self with them on their phone. It may sound like a sad concept yet it is thoroughly addictive and a testament to that is seeing how each download costs
$2.99.
6. Plants vs. Zombies: the game that, in its own right, has become a classic in the gaming world and continues to sell well despite its time on the market. It is priced at $1.99, which is still relatively expensive.
5. Doodle Jump: the ridiculously simple yet undeniably addictive game from GameHouse kicks off the top five and its $0.99 price point means that it can compete with the best in a highly competitive market.
4. Where’s My Water? Another innovative, simple yet fun title in the charts is Where’s My Water, which requires gamers to put out fires using a limited supply of water. Like Doodle Jump it also costs $0.99.
3. Fruit Ninja: one of the most downloaded games in recent history, Fruit Ninja is still getting a large number of downloads for its $1.26 price point.
2. Cut the Rope: it was number one for quite a while, yet it seems as if someone has cut its rope and run away with its car. That game is:
1. Grand Theft Auto III: it seems that Rockstar can do no wrong and dominate any platform they set their sights on and that too for a relatively expensive $2.99 price point.
