  1. The biggest attraction is Stingray City. This is actually a sandbar off of Grand Cayman. You can take a boat there and go swim with and feed the stingrays. I highly recommend the excursion provided by Native Way Watersports.

Another favorite is Boatswain's Beach. In addition to being a park it is the new home of the Grand Cayman Turtle Farm. There are a number of huge tanks where they are raising sea turtles. They are sorted by size and get moved from tank to tank as they get bigger before being released to the sea.

Yet another "attraction" is h**l. h**l  is a group of short, black, limestone formations. There are many stories of how it got named. The best thing to do there is buy postcards and send them from the Post Office next door to the gift shop and mail them from h**l. A neat thing to do, but don't go out of your way if you don't have the time.

Of course there is the famous Seven Mile Beach. What a great place to spend the day working on your tan.

Finally, there is the butterfly farm. Open in Grand Cayman since 2003, the Butterfly Farm is home to lots of different species of butterflies. There is also a species of moth that grows to a wingspan of about 14 inches.

In any event, there is plenty to do in Grand Cayman.

  2. I have been to Georgetown Grand Cayman about 5 times and I have found that most of the tourist stuff there is kinda hokey.  Especially the tour of the town called "h**l".

I suggest that you do not book a tour there but just get off the ship and when you walk through the port gates there will be plenty of taxi drivers there to take you to 7-Mile beach.  Go enjoy the great beach.  It's only about $4-5. US to get a taxi, each way. and there are plenty of taxis at the beach to take you back to town when you are ready.  But do stop in the Tortuga Rum cake store near the dock and sample some cake and buy some to take back home.
