  1. what is that....what is the ques?

  2. what about it? you mean in reference to Sociological Abstraction? well....Grand Theory attempts to explain the inter-relationships among numerous concepts and intends to be independent of time and space. In other words, it intends to be universally applicable. An example would be Talcott Parsons' Action Systems Theory, which attempted to explain the workings of society at a very abstract level. Another example would be Marx's Historical Materialism, which argued economic relations were the foundation of social structure.

I think it's somewhat true in this age in where we produce materials to continue our survival but I think we over do it and exaggerate in order to become wealthy from people's 'supposed' needs. We really don't need ipods or iphones and blackberry's and all that junk but the company's make it seem like you really do and it sucks because they really have a hold on society right now and technology will eventually backfire on us and instead of having a positive effect it will eventually lead to our downfall.....

  3. Grand theory is any theory which attempts an overall explanation of social life, history, or human experience. It is normally contrasted with empiricism, positivism, or the view that understanding is only possible by studying particular instances, societies, or phenomena.

    But what is your question?
