Grandeur likely to prevail in Tercentenary Stakes (Group 3)
Grandeur is expected to win the Tercentenary Stakes (Group 3) at Ascot in England on Thursday, June 21, 2012. A cash prize of £39,697 will be awarded to the winner of the class-1 event.
The going will be good to soft in the 1 mile 2 furlong event, which is scheduled to start at 17:00 GMT. A total of 11 runners will be seen in action and their names are as follows: Tales Of Grimm, Wrotham Heath, Grandeur, Mukhadram, Stipulate, Crius,
Energizer, Rewarded, Goldoni, Cavaleiro and Starboard.
Looking at the track conditions, the best chances of victory appear to be with Grandeur. Although he will be up against some very good runners, he has a solid chance of taking the top spot. His performances in recent times have been good, which will
encourage the punters to place a lot of bets on him.
The three-year-old gelding has participated in five events, winning a couple of them. Moreover, he finished runner up on the same number of times, which means that he only dropped out of the top two once.
In his most recent run, the Jeremy Noseda’s trainee delivered a very good result. He finished runner up in it by just a small distance and a similar run would definitely put him in contention of a victory.
Grandeur was rated favourite by the bookies last time around, but he failed to deliver the expected result. He will be partnered by seasoned jockey, Frankie Dettori, who has won quite a few races at this level. However, his form is not good these days,
which will discourage the punters to place bets on him.
On the other hand, Wrotham Heath has won the confidence of the bookies because of his terrific performances in recent times. He has participated in five events, winning a couple of them. In addition to that, he has also finished runner up once, which
shows that he is capable of fighting at the front.
The three-year-old colt is carrying the winning momentum right now, as he was victorious in his most recent run. He was given a tough time by Grandeur back then, but he managed to finish ahead by a neck distance. This will help him attract a lot of
bets today.
