How do you get the mother to relinquish her rights to two children that we have raised for 9 years so that we can adopt them?

  1. Is she your daughter?

    Well you can force her unless you can prove that she is a bad mother and so on.

    google your state name statutes (mine is Texas Statues)

    Go under Family Code then Adoption and Parent-Child Relationship or Parental Right Termination.

  2. I've done 5 grandparent adoptions in the last 4 months...working on one now.  The only reason the parents signed off was that the children were in foster care and the courts were going to take them.

    If the parents have gone more than 90 without contact they can be charged with abandonment in my state.

  3. Maybe you could hire a 'professional' who works for an agency.

    They are trained to separate mothers and children.
