Last week my grandma who is 69 started to kind of lose it (mentally) i guess you could say and then like her arms or legs will seize up. For example her hand will clench into a fist involuntarily and she wont be able to unclench it someone has to do it for her. She hasn't been able to walk well since this has happened and she has fallen a few times. And tonight she fell and was on her knees next to her bed leaning on her bed and me and my mom were trying to help her up and her whole body was shaking involuntarily. Does anyone know anything that can cause this?

  1. She could be having an allergic reaction to something.  OR She should be checked for Parkinson's disease.  I work with the elderly and most of the time when something like this happens, they are either not taking their medication properly or having an allergic reaction to something.  If she has new medication, that could be the cause.

  2. Since this started suddenly, it could be seizures; ministrokes, Parkinson's or some other neurological disease.  It could be a brain tumor as she is falling a lot.

I suggest she be evaluated quickly by a neurologist.  She is not that old.

Good luck to all of you.

  3. that could be a sign of pakinsins
