Grands Crus ready for a 4th straight win at Newbury
The talented hurdler, Grands Crus, is looking to accomplish a 4th straight victory in Don’t Settle For Less Novices’ Chase on Saturday, February 11 at Newbury.
Prior to this, the David Pipe-trained gelding registered a marvellous hat-trick in November-December. 2011.
The dashing horse won Steel Plate And Sections Novices’ Chase, GPG Novices’ Chase and Williamhill.Com Feltham Novices’ Chase on the trot last fall.
The gray gelding posted another victory in the 2010-2011 season. Overall, he has won 7 out of his 14 starts so far.
In the weekend’s 3 mile long Class 3 event, Grands Crus will run against 24 horses including Baile Anrai, Ballyallia Man, Ben’s Folly, Cannington Brook, Clash Duff, Helpston, How’s My Friend, Invictus, Join Together, Loose Preformer, Maringo Bay, Master
Fiddle, Monbeg Dude, Mossley, Mr Moonshine, Our Island, Our Mick, Penny Max, Picture This, Prince Of Pirates, Roalco De Farges, Silviniaco Conti, Teaforthree and Viking Blond.
Since the very beginning of his career, on October 25, 2009, the seven-year-old gelding has had a good run at hurdles.
So far, he has won 4 out of his 9 hurdle races and 3 Chase races in as many starts. Bred by Jean-Marie Prost Alamartine, he was foaled in April 2005. The horse is owned by Roger Stanley & Yvonne Reynolds III.
Apart from Don’t Settle For Less Novices’ Chase, Newbury will host seven other races on February 11. The first race will start at 12:55 while the last contest is scheduled to be held at 4:55. All of the events hold great significance, and the bookmakers
are geared up to stake huge bankroll for the thrilling weekend.
