Grands Crus with the Gold Cup or the Ryanair on the horizon
All the stables are gearing up for the eventual grand festival in March at Cheltenham. The Lexus Chase gave many an excuse to judge the potential of their under charges for the test. One of the major players was the David Pipe trained, Grands Crus. The seven-year-old
grey gelding ended third in the Grade 1 William Hill King George VI Chase on 26th December, 2012 at Kempton race course over three miles.
The race was landed by the favourite entry of the race, Long Run, trained by, Nicky Henderson, while qualifying as the runner-up was, Captain Chris.
The connections consider it a remarkable comeback after the French grey gelding was pulled up in the Grade 3 Paddy Power Gold Cup Chase (Handicap) on 17th November, 2012 at Cheltenham race course over two miles and 4 ½ furlongs.
"I thought it was a fantastic run, the best we could have hoped for in those conditions after he had a wind op," Pipe told At The Races.
"He had a bit of time off so I thought he ran a cracking race. He just got tired up the home straight.”
"We're back on track and it's onwards and upwards. It will be the Gold Cup or the Ryanair."
Dynaste, who took his 100% record over fences to three with an exhilarating success in the Feltham Novices' Chase on the same Kempton card, is to have one more run before the Festival.
"He's good, very exciting and has come out of the race well," said Pipe.
David Pipe has intentions set on one of the either, he would aim him for the Betfred Gold Cup or the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham race course.
The trainer has planned unlike the champion trainer, Paul Nicholls, who wants Tidal Bay to prevail in the Ladbrokes World Hurdle or the Grand National.
Dom Alco’s seven-year-old grey gelding out of, Fee Magic, won the Steel Plate And Sections Novices’ Chase on 11th November, 2011 at Cheltenham race course over two miles and 4 ½ furlongs.
Riding with jockey, Tom Scudamore, the favourite entry defeated Champion Court by ten lengths.
He has been racing with the same jockey since a while now and has already proved his ability to bounce back into form.
