It seems that Luka Modric’s recent transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid wasn’t just a one-time deal. Tottenham seem to be getting ready to have four La Liga players joining them.
It seems that Madrid and Tottenham have struck an arrangement, and although it is not exactly clear as to what the terms of the agreement are, rumors have it that four Real Madrid Players, who aren’t getting much game-time may be sent on loan to the Spurs.
Esteban Granero is one of these four players that we may see playing in the English Premier League soon enough. Brought up in Real’s youth team, the central midfielder used to be a common choice in the tenure of Manuel Pelligrini, checking-in
over 30 appearances in all competitions.
However, with bigger names joining the club, Granero has been struggling with game-time. Seeing as the Spurs have just sold Modric, they could use an experienced central midfielder who could help in forming plays and assisting goals.
Seeing as he is not new at proving himself to the club by playing for other teams (had a one year successful spell in Getafe in 2007), Granero would do well to take this opportunity.
Next we have Jese Rodriguez. The top scorer for Spain in the 2012 European Under-19 Championship, and man of the match in the final, this young 19 year old could do wonders at Tottenham. Along with the fact that it is highly unlikely that
he will get any game-time this season, such talent would go to waste if not worked on.
A transfer could work well, not only for Tottenham who are lacking strikers, but for Jose Mourinho as well. If he sends Rodriguez over to the fiercely competitive English Premier League, where it is likely that he will get some game time, he could very likely
end up with a young striker who has the skill, endurance and speed to keep up with the stars at Real.
Another possible move is Lassana Diarra. The defensive midfielder has been thinking about moving out of Bernabeu for a while now. With hardly any minutes in the position he feels most comfortable (midfield), Diarra could do well to go to
Tottenham.
Usually only being used by Mourinho as extra muscle in matches against Barcelona, Tottenham may have a consistent position for him in midfield, with the loss of modric. If Granero’s move is confirmed then its the perfect setup.
We may also see the 2007 FIFA World Player of the Year Kaka playing for the Spurs as well, later on this season. With very little game time in his future in the club, and talks about selling him off, the Brazilian may just try and settle
for the Spurs. Jose Mourinho has already stated that Kaka is not in his plans this year so why should he keep him around? The thirty-year-old attacking midfielder wants a change, and maybe he should try out the English Premier League before it gets too late.
So there you have it folks, four Real players could very possibly be seen playing for the Spurs later on in the season. However I cannot help but feel that Jose Mourinho should think before any of this is finalized. He hasn't had a very good start this season,
maybe a change in the formation and the squad could help him out or maybe he should give those players with little game time a chance to see what they can do.
Whatever he chooses, it seems like Real Madrid and the Spurs have struck up quite the partnership.
