Granite countertops over old countertops??

Question

does anyone know where you can get the new granite countertops that are made to be installed over your old countertops??? does homedepot or lowes carry that kind of stuff or do you need to go to a granite store??? i just saw them on hgtv and they are great i want to find out how much they run

Installing them over the old counters means that you don't have to reinforce the cabinets underneath sometimes.  But it also means that your work surface is 1 inch higher and your backsplashes are no longer spaced properly.  Go to the granite showrooms.  They are much more fun than Home Depot.  When you go in the back, you see the slabs of granite.  

As soon as you buy your granite you will see a show on HGTV telling you that something else is much better than granite and you'll be tempted again.
